The research I conducted for my dissertation led me to the conclusion that if graphic designer's are to make any impact in the environmental design arena, they first need to take care of their own waste. By this I mean that we should print in an ecologically sound fashion. This project was an attempt to show that this was not only aesthetically viable but also theoretically possible.
Devised as a one-stop-eco-friendly-print shop, Leaf paper & print is a fictional company. It's entire product range is split into two categories, BioPrint and TechnoPrint. The former contains no dioxins, chlorine compounds, heavy metals or petrochemicals, and thus can biodegrade safely. The latter contains no organic compounds whatsoever, and thus cannot biodegrade at all, but is instead designed to be 100% recyclable. The disparate nature of these two product lines yet their shared goals made for an atypical piece of environmentally-centred print design.
